Join us as our Junior High students' monologues are performed by Marfa actors!


Due to possible adverse weather conditions in the area, Marfa ISD will have a delayed school start on Thursday, February 2nd. School will begin at 10:00 am. The bus route will run at 9:30 am.
Administrators will continue to monitor road conditions in order to make decisions that are best for our Shorthorn family.

Marfa ISD is having a general election on May 6 , 2023. Candidates have between Wednesday, January 18, 2023 and Friday, February 17, 2023 to file.
Interested candidates can pick up their packets at the Marfa ISD administration office.
To be eligible to be a candidate for, or elected or appointed to, the office of Board member, a person must:
1. Be a United States citizen.
2. Be 18 years of age or older on the first day of the term to be filled at the election or on the date of appointment, as applicable.
3. Have not been determined by a final judgment of a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be: Totally mental incapacitated and the person’s mental capacity has not subsequently been completely restored by a final judgment of a court exercising probate jurisdiction; or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote and person’s guardianship has not been modified to include the right to vote or the person’s mental capacity has not been completely restored by a subsequent final judgment of a court exercising probate jurisdiction.
4. Have not been finally convicted of a felony from which the person has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities. Atty. Gen. Op. LO 96-114 (1996).
5. Be a resident of Texas and the District for the period of time described at CANDIDATE’S RESIDENCY TERM (This is a resident of the state of Texas for the past 12 months, a resident of the Marfa ISD six months).
6. A qualified voter
